Choosing the name for our business and brand was an important decision for me. I wanted a name that really reflected who we are in terms of design, but also who we are as people.

It was just this time last year that we were putting the final touches on a dream come true—our very first brick and mortar store on Canton Street. Last December we were just getting ready to finally cut the ribbon, open our doors and welcome you into our sweet home in downtown Roswell. You and the people of our community in Roswell have welcomed us in with open arms, and we couldn’t be more proud to have been a part of this incredible city this past year.

We officially kicked off the holiday season at Linen & Flax last month by hosting our first annual Christmas on Canton Street. We can’t thank those of you who attended enough! You made the day a huge success—our busiest of the year! It’s such a thrill to be able to help your halls get decked and your homes get ready for the most wonderful time of the year!

One of the most popular design trends to adorn your home is the creation of a gallery wall. It’s a great way to decorate a wall in a personal way. With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, those of us hosting the day in our homes are already at work getting our places ready for family and festivities. While your Thanksgiving table (and hopefully the food!) will be the main attraction, don’t limit your decorative attention to just that space. Last month, we had the exciting opportunity to host Linen & Flax’s very first Fall Faire. Our team transformed the backyard of our storefront on Canton Street into a celebration of the season on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I love the start of a new season. It always feels like a great time to make a new start or embark on a new adventure. And as we’re gearing up for fall, I can’t wait to see what this upcoming season holds. 

One of my favorite things to do in the mornings before everyone stirs and life gets started is to escape to my own cozy corner in my home. With a cup of coffee in hand, I steal away to read, pray, rest and mentally prepare for all that’s ahead in the day.

Every home has a story to tell. The people, the decorations, the life lived inside—all of those things contribute to the overall story of your home. And one of the best ways you can add to the story of your space is by incorporating a few vintage finds into your décor. Vintage elements help give your home some one-of-a-kind character. And believe it or not, they’re pretty easy to find! Take a trip to your local flea market, shop around at an antique store or estate sale or simply look around your own home for some classic family hand me downs. You’re sure to find some timeless treasures to put to use in your home.

If you’ve visited our storefront on Canton Street, then you’ve probably seen our Linen & Flax team huddled around the table in our office tucked away in the corner. While we love having a space where we can all work together, the truth is our workspace can get a little tight when all of us are around the table at the same time! That’s why I’ve created a separate workspace for myself in one of my favorite places—my home!

One of my favorite things about summer (or really any season for that matter) is gathering around the table with friends. There’s nothing better than a good summer night get together and, if you’re anything like me, you leave the cooking to someone else and focus on setting the scene with some summer themed décor.

One of the best spots in your home may not actually be in your home. In fact, it’s just outside your front door—your porch! Living in the heart of the South, a front porch is a must in a home. And it’s become one of my favorite places to not only kick back and relax but also gather for some quality time with friends and family.  Check out a few things you can do to make your front porch a cozy, intimate space for entertaining and unwinding.

When putting together our family room, I knew I wanted it to be a space in our home that was not only beautiful but also functional. It’s one of the rooms in our home that is almost always in use, and so I knew it needed to be comfortable and inviting while at the same time practically laid out with space for all of our family and guests. That’s why, when it came time to pick out seating, I opted for the best combination of form and function for a family room: a sectional sofa.

One of the pieces our clients and visitors to our storefront on Canton Street ask us about all the time is the custom made barn doors we incorporate into so many of our designs. And we understand why! They’re one of the most beautiful statement pieces you can put in your home. And what better way to incorporate a little farmhouse feel than by bringing in handcrafted barn doors?

So often guest rooms inadvertently become forgotten spaces in our homes. But rather than letting them be the sparse or disregarded parts of your house, try thinking of your guest spaces as the home away from home for your visitors.

Last month we welcomed the arrival of spring at Linen & Flax by hosting our first ever Spring Garden Party. We transformed the backyard of our storefront home on Canton Street into an outdoor gathering space for guests to grab a drink, pull up a chair, and get inspired to kick off the spring season in style.

As moms, we have the privilege of creating the environment where our families will grow and thrive. We’re writing the stories of our homes by creating the spaces where their fondest memories will be made.

The story behind our name is the story of so much more than the business. It’s really the story of my life and all that God has done for me along the way.
